Starbucks is kicking off summer early in the United States with the launch of its new Tropical Butterfly Refresher. The sunshine-inspired beverage is joined by returning favourites, such as the Iced Horchata Shaken Espresso, and the in-store debut of a Khloé Kardashian popcorn flavour.

From 12 May, Starbucks US customers can get their hands on the customisable beverage boasting tropical flavours like perfect passionfruit and sweet, creamy guava.

Mango-pineapple flavoured pearls are layered for a burst of freshness, while a hint of butterfly pea flower gives the drink a brilliant indigo hue.

People Magazine reported that the item’s colourful palette was an ‘instant mood booster’ and that customers can have the drink made with crisp lemonade or a coconut drink.

You can also ask your barista to adjust the Tropical Butterfly Refresher’s caffeine levels and B vitamins, the publication said.

The beautiful beverage is joined on the menu by the Mexican-style Iced Horchata Shaken Espresso.

A Starbucks press release describes the fan-favourite as a ‘refreshing and creamy’ delight made with Starbucks Blonde Espresso and horchata syrup.

The drink is topped with ice and oat drink. A Horchata Frappuccino blended beverage is also available.

If you’re peckish, then bags of Khloud White Cheddar Protein Popcorn will be available in participating stores alongside Kardashian’s Sweet and Salty Kettle Corn Protein Popcorn.

Meanwhile, sweet treat fans can pick up the returning Unicorn Cake Pop.

The handheld delight features creamy vanilla cake mixed with confetti sprinkles, dipped in white chocolate icing and decorated with a charming unicorn face.

The Tropical Butterfly Refresher, Iced Horchata Shaken Espresso, Unicorn Cake Pop and Khloud White Cheddar Protein Popcorn come ahead of the antiicpated Miffy + Starbucks collaboration.

Coffeehouses across the nation are set to be filled with essential drinkware and lifestyle pieces inspired by Miffy’s ‘playful curiosity and gentle charm’.

The collection comes just months after the Miffy + Starbucks line initially landed in Australia, Brunei, Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam last October, with items such as mugs, tumblers, and bags.

Late last month, Starbucks celebrated the global launch of The Devil Wears Prada 2 with a secret menu styled after the film’s four main characters, played by Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, and Anne Hathaway.

It featured: The Miranda, A no-foam, extra-shot, extra-hot Caffè Latte with nonfat milk; The Nigel, a Doppio Espresso Con Panna with mocha sauce; The Emily, an Iced Chai with almond drink and sugar-free caramel syrup, and Andy’s Cappuccino, featuring oat drink, caramel, and cinnamon.

Speaking about the four-drink line-up, Erin Silvoy, senior vice president of global marketing at Starbucks said: “Starbucks has been part of The Devil Wears Prada universe since the original film.

We’re excited to bring that connection to life again, giving fans a way to step into the moment – starting with their daily coffee.”

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is in cinemas now.
