MasterChef fans rejoice - the beloved cooking contest is charting unknown waters by going live 24 hours a day, seven days a week for the first time this spring.
In July 1990, the original MasterChef series premiered on BBC One in the UK, featuring Loyd Grossman as a judge.
Since then, the likes of Australia, Indonesia, Turkey and the United States have brought the programme to their shores, as has Mexico, which premiered its first season in 2015.
Since then, MasterChef Junior México and MasterChef México La Revancha have been and gone, with the original programme wrapping up its 11th season last summer.

Finally, the show is back this month - but with a twist.
MasterChef México 24/7 is set to premiere on 17 May via TV Azteca, the multimedia conglomerate owned by Grupo Salinas.

As the name suggests, fans will be able to watch every minute of every day, meaning they won’t miss a minute of heated contestant rivalry.
Viewers outside of Mexico will also be able to live stream the programme all day long on Disney+ and via a digital element.
Variety reported that alongside the stream, TV Azteca will air live episodes, including 2-hour primetime episodes, every weekday.
On Sundays, three hours will be afforded for MasterChef México 24/7’s Grand Elimination Challenge.
Audiences who tune into the competition via digital will be able to view intimate training sessions, team challenges, and get the scoop on judges Adrián Herrera, Zahie Téllez, and Poncho Caden's deliberations in real time.
Fans will also be able to watch technical pressure challenges, focused assignments, and culinary tests during the week, the outlet reported.
It also means they will be able to see any blunders and stressfull moments without any filter or editing.
An official synopsis states that all of the MasterChef contestants will also live, train, and compete under one roof for the first time.
The digs - described as a ‘purpose-built environment’ - is designed to ‘elevate technique, mentorship and professional development’, as per the logline.
“The format increases transparency around the discipline and craft required to succeed, shifting the focus from observation to skill-based progression.”
Speaking about the unprecedented 24/7 model, Frank Scheuermann, chief content officer at MasterChef México producers, EndemolShine Boomdog, told Variety: “MasterChef has sustained global relevance because it evolves without compromising its core.
“This model expands access to the process while protecting the integrity of the competition as viewers gain greater visibility into mentorship, technique, and progression.”

Meanwhile, Lucas Green, Banijay Entertainment chief content officer, said: “The strength of the MasterChef brand means we can adapt and scale while still delivering the creativity, warmth and aspirational food storytelling audiences love.
“MasterChef 24/7 will give viewers unprecedented access to the inner workings of the ‘MasterChef’ journey, forging a greater connection with the show’s community across linear and digital platforms.”
